Creative Christmas Window Displays
December is here and we are all very excited at Biscuiteers! The lights are twinkling, shoppers are filling the streets, and there isn’t long left until the big day. One of our favourite things about Christmas is seeing all of the beautiful and creative window displays in London, and we have spotted some amazing ones this year!
We love to get inventive with our own Christmas window displays and the two Biscuiteers icing cafés are looking particularly magical at the moment. In Notting Hill you’ll find a biscuit performance of The Nutcracker, inspired by our beautiful Nutcracker collection. We’ve added not one, but two Christmas trees for good measure. The display was baked by hand in the boutique and lovingly hand-iced too, right down to the last detail. It took 4 days, at least 40 biscuits and a lot of icing to complete!
In our Northcote Road icing café we’ve recreated a scene from The Snowman™ and The Snowdog film, using ourlimited edition collection as inspiration. This Christmassy window features colourful tents, sparkling snow, and even The Snowman himself flying overhead!
We hope you love both of our Christmas window displays as much as we do. If you do then let us know by sharing your photos on Twitter and Instagram, and tagging @BiscuiteersLtd!
A few of our favourite Christmas window displays beyond Biscuiteers include Harrods, Fortnum & Mason and Selfridges. Based around the theme of ‘Once upon a Christmas,’ the iconic windows at Harrods include a collection of stages with different performances taking place. Miniature displays just below feature the return of last year’s character Peter Pumpernickel. You’ll spot him dancing, pulling crackers and getting very much into the festive spirit with his companion, Poppy Peashoot.
The Fortnum & Mason windows are wonderfully traditional. There are 21 in total and each one has been designed by illustrator Kristjana S. Williams. The enchanting arrangements are brought to life with intricately decorated animals, seasonal food and musical instruments.
The Selfridges Christmas windows are inspired by the Star of Bethlehem, with a different display for each sign of the zodiac. We’ve heard that an incredible 2 tonnes of glitter has been used to create the displays and 32,000 hours of work have been put into them!
If you love Christmas windows as much as we do then you may enjoy reading about our own creations for Selfridges,an edible London cityscape made entirely from gingerbread and a biscuit-y recreation of the department store itself! If you’re planning a Christmas shopping trip then don’t forget that you can buy your Biscuiteers biscuits in Harrods,Selfridges and Fortnum & Mason too.
