#ILoveStereotypes - 10 Images That Reflect Mainstream Pakistani Mindset By Zenub Ayaz

No matter what we say or do, deep down we all love stereotypes or if not love, we surely are accustomed to stereotypical crap like Pathans can’t think, Women can’t drive, Punjabis have accents, & Indians are our enemies.
#ilovestereotypes is a new, much comical and fun campaign started by Khala Juttmental. Khala juttmental is the facebook’s new fictional character and her tag line is, “karte sub hain, phir bante bhi sub hain”.
Previously, there was a campaign run by Trulymadly.com, which focused upon breaking stereotypes. Whereas #ilovestereotypes is a Pakistani attempt to mock down an intellectual move by some sane minds- in the name of entertainment- as we repel intelligence- SUCH PATHAN KHOPRIS WE ARE!
Let’s take a look at some of the most deeply rooted clichés.  One can laugh at them but to some extent each one of us agrees with them- AND THAT’S JUST MISERABLE!

1. The fairer sex is a bit slow in the brain department.. is it so Ladies?

2. America Has Blondes and We have Pathans; Simply Mean and Cliche'!

3. Yes, We hate our government, nothing new about it.

4. That's not us, but the people who thinks this way.

5. To all our, Memon friends out there! Please don't hate us.

6. Hmm, and we shall maintain our silence here.

7. and here too..

8. Oh yes, the most common one!

9. And that's because Karachi is Karachi and Lahore in NOT Karachi

10.  This one was more of an 'Election Fever', not so true anymore, is it?

Samsung Launches Curved Ultra HD TVs in Pakistan

Samsung Electronics held an event on 7th June at Expo Center Lahore to announce the launch of its latest Curved Ultra High Definition (UHD) television series in Pakistan. The new Curved UHD series was revealed to the media and public in a press conference.
The interesting fact about the Samsung’s Curved UHD TV is, when compared to traditional flat-screen TVs; it allows more realistic viewing experience, even from different angles, thus ensuring that every seat becomes the best seat in the house.
Samsung’s innovative (4-step up-scaling) technology converts lower resolution contents into UHD picture quality enhancing the details of video images.  The combination of the curved screen and Samsung’s Proprietary Auto Depth Enhancer UHD technology automatically adjusts contrast for a greater sense of depth and gives a 3D-like effect without requiring glasses.
Mr. John Park, MD Samsung Pakistan, Afghanistan said, “The young UHDTV market has great potential in Pakistan. Samsung’s innovative technology converts lower resolution contents into UHD picture quality enhancing the details of video images. We are extremely delighted to launch a new range of innovative products. “
Samsung UHDTV displays the world’s true colors through PURCOLOR, crystal clear images with optimized contrasts, that is suitable for UHD picture quality. Samsung’s UHD dimming precisely adjusts the brightness levels to create deeper black and purer whites.

ere are plenty of gorgeous views over the city of Florence, such as that from Piazzale Michelangelo, but the one from Florence’s Rose Garden (giardino delle rose) in late Spring is one worth writing about. Since 2011, the park has been home to 12 works by the Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon, who passed away in 2005 and whose works were donated to the city by his widow.

Although Folon has not received particular critical acclaim, and thus the City of Florence at first did not want to accept this donation, the permanent exhibition of Folon sculptures at the Rose Garden is a huge gift to the city and its people. The garden, previously only open in the month of May when the roses bloomed, is now open year-round, and is enjoyed not only by tourists, but by residents, who find this a wonderful place to read a book or have a picnic. But most of all, the sculpture is marvelously integrated within the landscape of the park and the view of the city.
A suitcase with a boat is a lyrical invitation to take a photo and take away the city with you, while a sleeping cat seems to invite hipsters to read books of poetry while reclining against it in the sun.

Reading books is the perfect activity in this park – the artist himself highly recommends it.

A symbol of hope looks up from his position a fountain, while one of Folon’s typical trench-coated men considers the sky and the cypress trees silhouetted against it.

Sometimes you have to search a bit to spot a cat-bird, or a bird man, or a flower-pot head.

In the Renaissance, different artistic styles and topics were appreciated in different locations. The art for your country house was different from that of your city palazzo, and a sculpture for a fountain in your garden was certainly different than a sculpture that you’d put outside your city hall. The whimsical forms, rounded shapes and textured surfaces of Folon’s bronzes are a modern ideal of garden sculpture. They are works that are meant to live outside and dialogue with their surroundings, and they do so perfectly here.
